Don't miss: Gustafer Yellowgold

"Hey! I'm from the sun." No, this isn't the raving of some crazed person on LSD. It's the story of Gustafer Yellowgold, a cone-headed cartoon creature who's the main character of a children's multimedia concert. The brainchild of Brooklyn musician and illustrator Morgan Taylor, Gustafer's animated story is shot by projector onto a screen behind musicians who play songs about his adventures on Earth. While kid-friendly, the show isn't just for tots - it's been an opening act for bands, including Wilco and the Polyphonic Spree. This weekend, Taylor and his sun creature will be accompanied by a 52-piece orchestra comprised of students from San Francisco public schools. Proceeds benefit San Francisco Unified School District's Summer Music Workshop.
